Japan braces for Typhoon Ampil as the storm approaches the country's eastern coastline. The typhoon, currently equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 85 mph (140 kph), is expected to intensify before nearing the southeast of Tokyo on Friday evening.
