SNC Lands $1 Billion Army Contract to Build Next-Gen Spy Plane

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) has secured a significant contract from the U.S. Army to transform a business jet into a cutting-edge spy plane, out-competing a team comprising L3Harris, Leidos, and MAG Aerospace. The contract, part of the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) program, tasks SNC with integrating advanced sensing technologies into the Bombardier Global 6500 jet. This aircraft will be used for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, replacing the Army's aging turboprop fleet.
