Belarusian State Border Committee Accuses Poland of Abusing Migrants at Border

For the first time since Russia and Belarus began their hybrid warfare campaign against NATO countries by shipping Middle Eastern and African migrants to borders areas in 2022, the Belarusian government publicly messaged against the alliance and the EU..The Belarusian State Border Committee accused Polish border guards of assaulting three Cameroonian nationals on August 26th, 2024. The official announcement reads below:."…Yesterday, August 26, Grodno border guards in the Svisloch region on the border with Poland discovered three citizens of Cameroon – two men and a woman. People were unable to move independently due to injuries to their limbs. According to the foreigners, they were detained on Polish territory and asked for asylum. In response to this, they were kicked and beaten with batons. The woman said that Polish security forces hit her not only on the legs and arms, but also on the head. After the abuse, the foreigners were taken to the border and pushed out onto Belarusian territory…".This announcement ignores inhuman policies of Belarus which flies migrants to Minsk, only to ship them to Poland's borders to overwhelm Poland's security forces and to exacerbate ties between Poland and other EU states which have much less strict migrant policies. This announcement marks a new chapter in the hybrid warfare campaign as Belarusian state organs begin to take a much more active messaging campaign.
