Czech Republic Announces Intent to Buy F-35

The Czech Republic has announced that they have decided to buy 24 F-35 Lightning II 5th generation fighters for 85M USD each. This makes Czech Republic the 16th nation to buy into the Joint Strike Fighter program.

The Civic Democratic Party of the Republic made the announcement last night that they would make the historic negotiations for the American made F-35 and Swedish CV-90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles in order to bolster its own military and meet NATO requirements for collective defense.

The Czech Republic cancelled a 2.1B USD deal with BAE for a tracked IFV and decided to purchase the Swedish vehicle for an unnamed price.
