The Denmark Defense Ministry announced today that they will provide a 1.3B DKK (190M USD) arms package to Ukraine. This package will include air defense missiles and funds to purchase ammunition. The announcement reads below:."In high demand, air defense missiles, other munitions, vehicles for bomber robots and funds for EU joint procurement of artillery ammunition. These are some of the elements in the donation package for Ukraine, which the government has today consulted with the Foreign Policy Council about.."It is absolutely crucial that we continue our support for Ukraine. This is a large and important donation, which we, among other things, have put together on the basis of Ukraine's wishes and needs, and which must support Ukraine's ongoing defense battle against the Russian invasion troops", says Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.."Ukraine's need for support remains great. Today's donation package sends an important signal that Denmark stands by Ukraine's side as long as necessary. I am happy that, also under the auspices of the EU, we jointly purchase artillery ammunition and donate it to Ukraine, which is absolutely necessary for Ukraine's freedom struggle. The abolition of the defense reservation makes sense – Denmark is strongest together with our allies and close partners," says Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen..The donations follow on from the joint donations that Troels Lund Poulsen presented last week in connection with the JEF meeting in Amsterdam and the UDCG meeting in Brussels.."With this donation, we allocate, among other things, 300 million kroner for EU joint procurement of artillery ammunition for Ukraine. International cooperation is absolutely essential for the continuous support of the Ukrainians' struggle for freedom. Unfortunately, it seems that the war is dragging on and with the many donations, we and our allies are sending a strong signal that we support the Ukrainians in the long run", says Troels Lund Poulsen..The donation package is financed within the Ukraine Fund, subject to the Finance Committee's subsequent final approval.".According to the Denmark Foreign Ministry, they have donated more than 1.3B EUR in military support and EUR 246 million in civilian contributions. The Danish Government has proposed to allocate an additional 22 billion DKK (USD 2.6 billion) for military support in the Danish national Ukraine Fund.
