Israeli-Russian National Kidnapped, Baghdad, Iraq

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, an Israeli and Russian dual national has been kidnapped in Baghdad. Elizabeth Zurkov was studying Kurdish communities when a group from the “Hezbollah Brigades” kidnapped her in March 2023. According to their press release, she is still alive.

According to Zurkov’s mother, the family last heard from her in March when she was on Turkey, she said she was fine:

“No government official contacted me, we were not informed of anything. The last time I heard from her was two months ago in Turkey and she said everything was fine and said she was not available because there was no reception. I myself do not understand What’s going on, suddenly the media started talking to me.”
