Russian Missiles Strike Grain Port After Leaving Export Deal

A grain facility in Ukraine's port city of Odessa was struck along with other structures overnight after a wave of missiles and drone strikes in the region were launched by Russian forces in retaliation for the strike on the Crimean Bridge.."A group strike of retaliation with high-precision sea-based weapons was inflicted on facilities where terrorist acts against the Russian Federation were being prepared using unmanned boats, as well as on the place of their manufacture at a shipyard near the city of Odessa," the Russian Ministry of Defense stated..The ministry also claimed that over 70,000 tons of fuel for maritime craft that were in storage containers were destroyed in both Mykolaiv and Odessa..Russia's Defense Ministry added that all of the launched drones and missiles hit their targets. However, Ukraine's Operational Command South posted on social media that "all the missiles were destroyed by anti-aircraft defense forces.".In Odessa, Operational Command South claimed that while their air defenses intercepted the Russian ordinance, "the fragments of hit rockets and the explosive wave from the hit damaged port infrastructure facilities, several private homeowners. An elderly man was injured in his own house, he is hospitalized.".The Ukrainian military added that while a missile did hit an industrial facility in Mykolaiv, the resulting fire was extinguished by emergency services and no casualties were reported..This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed revenge for the "terrorist attack" on the Crimea bridge that left 2 dead and 1 child hospitalized, as well as much of the automobile section of the bridge impassable.
