Ukrainian military sources have claimed that a SBU sniper has set a new world record for the longest sniper kill at 3.8km.
The shot was said to have been taken with the MAYAK “Lord of the Horizon” rifle, a Ukrainian single-shot anti-material rifle chambered in 12.7x114mm.
New world record: the SBU sniper destroyed the invader from a distance of 3.8 km.
The SBU sniper set a world record for the most effective shot. He hit an enemy soldier from an incredible distance of 3800 meters. The previous record was 3540 meters.

A video was also released showing the purported kill. From shot to impact, there is a nearly 10 second gap in time, suggesting a bullet travel distance of several kilometers.
If confirmed, this would beat the current reported record of 3.54km, which is held by an unnamed Canadian Joint Task Force 2 sniper that reportedly killed an ISIS militant in Iraq in 2017.
