German Defense Minister Announces 1.3B EUR Ukraine Package During Visit

German Defense Minister Pistorius arrived on a surprise trip to Kyiv yesterday, meeting with key Ukrainian leaders ,including President Zelensky and Defense Minister Umerov, the Ukrainian military, and he observed training.

He laid flowers at the Maidan Memorial in Kyiv shortly after arriving. Followed by a meeting with a Ukrainian tank crew at an undisclosed location to observe training on German-supplied munitions.

However, the most important development came when he announced that Germany would provide a bi-lateral 1.2B EUR aid package to Ukraine which includes four additional IRIS-T air defense systems and more than 20,000 155mm artillery shells.
