At approximately 1624 EST, Russian Federation Bryansk Oblast Governor Bogomaz told their Telegram followers that a Ukrainian drone attack was underway in their airspace. Several eyewitnesses posted video of the Ukrainians drones and activation of Russian air defenses in Bryansk proper.
By 1800 EST, Governor Bogomaz claimed that three drones had been shot down, there had been no casualties, or material damages. However, local Russian media reported that a fire had broken out at the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk, reportedly due to a Ukrainian drone strike.
Kremniy El plant is one of the major suppliers of microelectronics to the Russian military and has been subsidized with billions of Rubles to come up with domestic replacements for foreign imported microelectronic systems.
This plant was also hit by Ukrainian drones in September 2023. As of this publication, the extent of the damage is unclear.
