Man Dies From Self- Inflicted Gunshot Wound Outside Lockheed Martin in Ft. Worth, Texas

At approximately 0700 (Ft. Worth local) employees of Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas were rerouted to alternate gates as a reported incident was unfolding at the main gate to the sprawling complex. Initial reports said that one man was shot and killed by security guards and the gate was locked down due to a suspicious device being found in the suspects car. However, we have learned from the White Settlement Police Department that no shots were fired by security guards and that the man had shot himself.

Before the suspect shot himself, he was apparently making “concerning comments” about looking for a federal officer on the ground of the Lockheed Martin complex.

Thus far, no motive has been released or the identity of the man. Once those details become available, this story will bbe updates.

The incident happened at the main gate for Air Force Plant 4 which is a government-owned, contractor-operated aerospace facility in Fort Worth, Texas, currently owned by the U.S. Air Force and operated by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. It is home of the F-16 and F-35 fighter aircraft. Military aircraft have been manufactured here since 1942. Plant 4 is adjacent to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, formerly Carswell Air Force Base.
