3 Dead After Oregon Safeway Shooting, 10 Dead In Three Separate U.S Shootings On Sunday And Police Injured, Detroit, Phoenix, Houston

Three were left dead, including the gunman, after man entered a Safeway grocery store in Bend, Oregon, Sunday evening and fatally shot two people, authorities said. Later the suspect was found dead inside. Police said they responded to multiple 911 calls at the Forum Shopping Center in the central Oregon city at about 7:04 p.m. At a Sunday night news conference, Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz said the gunman came from a residential area behind the shopping center and moved through the parking lot shooting rounds from an AR-15 style rifle. The shooter then entered the Safeway and shot one person inside the entrance and continued firing inside the store, fatally shooting another person. Police found the suspected gunman deceased inside the Safeway. Krantz said police didn't fire any shots. Krantz said police recovered an AR-15 rifle and a shotgun "in close proximity" to the shooter. Around 30 shots were heard in total during the shooting. Grocery goers recount stories of rushing their children and loved ones out the store while shots rang out. On self-publishing site WattPad, the shooter wrote a manifesto before the murders, using violent language and rambling about his plans. Users on social media indicated the gunman previously had worked at the Safeway's outlet as a cart pusher and had attended local Mountain View high school in which he had reportedly earmarked for a mass shooting for September 8 before bringing his plans forward to the night of August 28th.
