Explosion and Fire at Diecastal North America Manufacturing plant in Greenville, MI

At approximately 2330 EST, reports began to emerge of a large explosion at the Diecastal North America Manufacturing plant in Greenville, Michigan. Locals are reporting on social media that the blast was heard up to eight miles away. There are also unconfirmed reports of multiple injuries from burns. Tactical Response Teams and local fire departments are reporting extreme threat of collapse and partial collapse already on the North side of the building.

According to the company’s website: “DNA was incorporated August 29, 2014 in Greenville, Michigan. We manufacture aluminum alloy wheels for the auto industry utilizing the latest digital and core technology for melting, casting, heat-treating, machining, painting, and testing of our products.”

This same plant was raided by the FBI in July, 2022 due to concerns over Chinese ownership and safety hazards. Apparently aluminum dust in the furnace area raised several safety complaints. Dicastal North America operates as a 100% owned subsidiary of CITIC Dicastal Co., Ltd. —the world’s largest manufacturer of aluminum wheels for the auto industry, which was founded in 1988 and is based in Qin Huangdao City, China.
