According to local media, the German national reported he was being threatened and sought asylum at the U.S. embassy prior to his arrest. He has no reported criminal history.

Moments ago, local media announced that a German national attempted to gain entrance to the U.S. embassy in Ascuncion, Paraguay with military gear.

He has been identified as Kolberg Phillip and he was wearing a bulletproof vest and possessed a Glock 17 pistol, a Roni conversion kit, at least three magazines of varying capacity, a flashlight, a drone, and local currency.
