A fire has erupted in the Russian metropolis of Saint Petersburg, reportedly spreading to over 3,000 square meters (32,292 square feet). The fire is reported to be at a tire warehouse on Salova Street in the Frunzensky district.."In the open area of the enterprise, burning of finished products and car tires occurs," the St. Petersburg office of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said..According to local media, 58 firefighters, 16 piece of fire equipment, and a helicopter have responded to the blaze. A local news reporter, Ekaterina Shipilova, with Channel 78 News stated that "it is almost impossible to breathe in the area because of the acrid smoke.".Russian news also claims that a fire train is heading to the site and a Ka-32 helicopter has been put on alert. The pillar of smoke is reportedly visible from multiple districts of the city. Prosecutors have begun investigating the cause of the fire. There have no reported victims yet.
