At approximately 2100 EST, initial reports began to emerge of a brush fire about 17 miles East of Goldendale, Washington in Klickitat County.

Initially, the brush fire burned 300 acres, but quickly doubled in size to 600 acres. By 2337 EST, the fire had raged to more than 6,000 acres.

By 1435 EST on July 22nd, 2023 the fire had grown to 30,000 acres with 0% containment with multiple crews, engines, and aircraft supporting. Evacuation orders were given and multiple structures have been destroyed. There have been no confirmed deaths at this time.
