Israeli Defence Force Launch Operation ‘Swords of Iron’, 10,000 Reservists Called Up, Major Offensives Underway

With footage of mass killings and kidnappings of civilians and IDF soldiers being released by Palestinian militants, the IDF has just announced the initiation of Operation 'Iron Swords.' The operation calls for over 10,000 reservists to prepare for contact with the militants, as well as to prepare for an escalation of conflict on Israel's border with Lebanon or the 'northern front.' Additionally, the IDF has launched an air campaign in the Gaza Strip, focusing on Hamas targets. Over 36 aircraft are reported to be taking part.
