Sanctions Over Taiwan and Ukraine Arms.The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced this morning that it would be sanctioning 12 U.S. defense companies and their senior management for involvement in the Ukraine War and arms sales to Taiwan. The announcement reads below:."For some time, the United States has ignored China's objective and fair position and constructive role on the Ukraine crisis, indiscriminately imposed illegal unilateral sanctions on a number of Chinese entities on the grounds of so-called Russia-related factors, engaged in unilateral bullying and economic coercion, and seriously infringed on the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of Chinese companies, institutions and individuals. At the same time, the United States continues to sell arms to China's Taiwan region, seriously violating the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US joint communiques, seriously interfering in China's internal affairs, and seriously undermining China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. In accordance with Articles 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 15 of the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, China has decided to take countermeasures against the following U.S military enterprises and their senior managers.".Those companies and individuals are listed below:. It is clear these sanctions are truly aimed at displeasure of the arming of Taiwan with advanced weaponry as the PRC seeks to absorb the island this decade.
