United States Suspends Import of Avocados From Mexican State Due to Attacks on American Officials

The United States halted the exportation of avocados from Mexico's western Michoacan state to the US following the US embassy in Mexico issuing a level four travel advisory against the state. This advisory comes after two American inspectors working for the USDA were detained amid a demonstration in Paracho, a city just north of Michoacan's second-largest city, Uruapan.
