Iran didn't retaliate when Israel attacked its nuclear facilities in 2021, but the regime currently appears to be more willingly than before.

October 1's Iranian missile barrage on Israel was a charged retaliation for Israel's year of campaigns and assassinations all around the Middle East. Even with Israel's sophisticated defense systems (and help from the U.S.) successfully intercepting most of the missiles, some still reached their intended targets, resulting in significant damage and triggering global concerns. With the dust settling, regional and international players are still evaluating the consequences of Iran's actions as tensions escalated further in an already strained environment.
