U.S. Official Confirms Death of Senior Hamas Official

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed that Marwan Issa, Hamas’ deputy commander of the group’s military wing, was killed in an airstrike last week.

Sullivan said that “the rest of the top leaders are in hiding, likely deep in the Hamas tunnel network, and justice will come for them too. We are helping to ensure that,” during the White House’s daily press briefing.

The announcement comes after Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. General Herzi Halevi said that the terrorist group is trying to conceal Issa’s fate during a press conference yesterday.

Halvei’s comments hinted at the death of the senior Hamas official from the strike while Issa and other senior Hamas commanders were in Central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp.
