Philippine President Issues Directive to Speed Up Amnesty for Communist Rebels

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed the creation of an amnesty program for the remaining Communist Party of the Philippines – New People's Army – National Democratic Front members to surrender. Marcos announced the directive after the 5^th Execom Meeting of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) on April 4^th.
