Taiwan Coast Guard Reprimands 10 Officers Over Chinese National Entering Tamsui River

On June 12th, the Taiwan Coast Guard said it reprimanded 10 officers on June 11th for negligence after a Chinese national illegally entered the Tamsui River on June 9th.

The personnel’s punishment ranged from reprimands to demerits, with the TCG’s Patrol Division Head, Liao Te-sheng, receiving one reprimand.

The other individuals that received reprimands included the Third Patrol Area Director; the maritime control officer; the patrol area commander; the Bali watch post Sergeant Major; and two officers of the Tamsui watch post, who received two reprimands each. The Third Patrol Area radar station’s team leader and two operators received one minor demerit each.
