Philippine Authorities Announce They Cannot Locate Suspended Mayor or Her Family For Several Weeks

Philippine authorities said they cannot locate Alice Guo, the suspended mayor of the town of Bamban, and said she was not at her residence for “several weeks.”

The announcement came after the Philippine Senate’s Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms notified the Senate on July 4th that they were unable to locate Guo or her immediate family members at the address to serve them subpoenas.

A farm helper refused to accept the documents because he did not know the individuals’ location. The mayor’s personal secretary also refused to accept the documents when officials went to Bamban City Hall. The servers left the subpoenas at the farm and the city hall, if any of the family members went there.
