Thailand Electoral Commission Endorses Results of Senate Election

On July 10th, Thailand’s Election Commission (EC) endorsed the results of the country’s senate election. Five of the seven EC commissioners voted to approve the results during the Wednesday meeting.

The Commission initially scheduled the endorsement to occur on July 3rd but postponed it to investigate allegations of candidate and voter fraud.

The officials verified the results after determining “that the entire election process had been done properly and the checking of candidates’ qualifications was also done.”

The EC endorsed the 200 winners but chose to only endorse 99 candidates on the waiting list because they determined one of the candidates was disqualified.

The official said that the 200 winners must appear in front of the EC to receive their endorsement certification from July 11th to July 12th.
