On July 12th, the Indian government declared that June 25th would become an observed holiday known as Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas (Murder of Constitution Day). The day will "commemorate the people who "suffered and fought in the Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi."
