Junta Destroyed Two Bridges in Kachin State to Prevent Rebel Movement

The junta destroyed two bridges in Kachin state connecting Myitkyina and Bhamo to prevent the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) from crossing them yesterday, May 7th.

The bridges were both destroyed by air strikes by the junta.

KIA and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) have captured several junta bases out of Northern Kachin State in the last few weeks.

Fighting in Rakhine State, and the southern Taningtharyi, Karen, and Mon regions meant the junta cannot send more reinforcements to Kachin State and has to rely solely on airstrikes.
