Australian Sage O’Donnell has died fighting in the International Legion in Ukraine, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has stated.
DFAT has stated that they are “providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian who died in Ukraine”.
His grieving mother stated to ABC news that “He fell in love with Ukraine and its culture and was humbled by the kindness and hospitality within his new community.” and that “Sage chose to live his life true to his beliefs and cause.”
