Potential Drone Attack in Iran

Multiple Iranian Shahed-136 drones

A potential drone attack was carried out in Isfahan, Iran. It’s so far unclear if a drone was indeed involved and, if so, what drone was used and by who. Initial reports suggest the facility in question is a munitions plant, some reports suggest this is the facility where the HESA Shahed-136 (Russian designation Geran-2) is manufactured. The Shahed-136 has become well known in recent months due to its use by Russian forces in Ukraine.

Update: It’s reported that two other targets were struck, an oil motor company and a service plant. The Iranian Ministry of Defense says that the attacks were carried out “by drones of an unknown origin.” It’s rumored by some Telegram channels that air defense was activated and engaged some targets.
