Israeli Air Force Strikes Gaza

The strikes targeted what Israel described as “terrorist targets.” The IDF announced the strikes on Twitter by saying, “The IDF is currently striking in Gaza.” They later Tweeted, “IDF fighter jets struck a production site for raw chemical material production, along with a weapon manufacturing site belonging to the Hamas Terrorist Organization.” The strikes were carried out just a few hours after a rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip. The rocket was intercepted by Israeli air defense. After the rocket launch, the IDF said, “The IDF holds Hamas responsible for all terrorism activity emanating from Gaza and it will face the consequences of the security violations against Israel.”

The recent flare-up between Israel and Palestinian groups started last week after Israeli forces raided a camp in Jenin and in response, Palestinian groups launched several rockets toward Israeli positions.
