Syrian media has reported that several airstrikes have struck various targets in and around Damascus. The Syrian media added that air defenses were activated and they claim the strikes were carried out by Israel. Israeli airstrikes of these kinds have become quite commonplace over the last few years. There is so far no public information regarding what the targets of the strikes were. More information to come.

Update: There are reports of two soldiers injured and material losses in the al-Midan neighborhood of Damascus. Also there is video purporting to show an Israeli missile being intercepted by Syrian air defenses.
