At least six have been confirmed dead on the island of Maui as Hurricane Dora has fanned wildfires on the island. Officials state that they are unsure of the source of the fires, but affirm that the fire has broken out following “long-term dry conditions”. It is unclear how many have been injured, although there are reports of local hospitals being overwhelmed by burn victims and individuals suffering from inhalation. The fires have also left several thousand homes without power.
