According to reports, Israeli Major General Nimrod Aloni has been captured by Palestinian forces.
He served as the commander of the Gaza Division until he was replaced in August 2022. He is set to head the IDF’s Depth Corps, which leads operations deep in enemy territory, according to an IDF statement from June 2023.
At least another 50 Israelis have been taken prisoner thus far, according to Israeli network N12.
