Japan and Germany Sign Armed Forces Supply Sharing Pact

Japan and Germany brokered an agreement to simplify sharing supplies and logistics under the Acquisition and Cross Servicing Act, or ASCA, after a meeting in Tokyo on January 29th.

The agreement simplifies the exchange of provisions such as ammo, fuel, and food, along with allowing access to facilities during joint exercises between the Japanese Self-Defense Force and the German Military. The two countries have performed an increasing number of joint operations recently amid the risng threat from China and Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

For the Japanese, Germany is the 7th trade partner under the ACSA.
