Myanmar Junta Proxy Party Pledges to Provide 5,000 Troops

Khin Yi, the current Chairman of Myanmar’s military proxy political party, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), promised to recruit and send at least 5,000 troops based on the recently activated conscription laws.

The USDP will also extend its efforts to recruiting other personnel from other political parties registered under the Junta.

Across the country, the government arrested several thousand young men and women and conscripted them into military service to replace losses from the civil war.
