China and the Maldives Sign Military Aid Agreement

China and the Maldives signed an agreement regarding military aid during a meeting on March 5th. Maldivan Defense Minister Mohammed Ghassa and Deputy Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation, Major General Zhang Baoqun  signed the agreement during a meeting to increase defense cooperation.

This furthers relations between China and the island nation, along with Maldivian President Muizzu visiting China in January and signing MoUs, improving the relationship more as the current government has ties with China.

However, neither side released any details regarding the agreement.
