Over 500 Junta Troops Start Surrendering to Rebel Forces

Reports out of Myanmar possibly indicate that a total of around five hundred junta troops have begun surrendering to rebel forces, specifically the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), as talks are allegedly underway on April 6th.

Soldiers of the 356th and 357th Light Infantry Battalions have linked up with the 275th Light Infantry Battalions in Myawaddy, Karen State.

Rebel forces attacked the 275th Light Infantry Battalion headquarters on April 5th.

The internet and other cellular communications are down in the area, and the only method of communication between the junta personnel and the KNLA is through Thai network operators.

Early reports indicate that surrendering is underway, with up to 275 junta soldiers surrendering to the KNLA.
