Security Forces Kill Two Terrorists During Operation in Northwest Pakistan

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement saying that security forces killed two terrorists during a short engagement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The statement said the engagement occurred on April 6th in the province’s North Waziristan district.

The ISPR said that the troops “effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which two terrorists were sent to hell.” They also said that forces recovered unspecified weapons and explosives after the incident.

The statement said that local security forces will continue to conduct sanitization operations to eliminate any terrorists in the area. This engagement occurred on the same day that security forces killed 10 terrorists in the province.

The ISPR or the Pakistani government also did not provide details regarding which group the two terrorists belonged to or if they were part of a larger group. Attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province made up 51 percent of all fatalities in Pakistan in the first quarter of 2024, according to a report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies.
