The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) took control of positions belonging to the 434th Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) on April 9th, around 2:00 p.m. local time in Hpapun, Karen State.
This latest event is part of a wider-scale operation involving the 19th, 340th, 341st, 434th, and 642nd junta infantry units, with a station posted on a strategic hill.
The KNLA previously captured territory belonging to the 19th and 340th infantry units on March 29th.
