Philippine Survey Ship and Escort Turn Away from Luzon and Towards South China Sea

The Philippine survey vessel, BRP H Ventura, and its Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) escort, the BRP Gabriela Silang, turned away from Luzon’s coast and are heading towards the South China Sea (SCS) on April 18th.

The vessels’ movement towards the SCS comes after the PCG confirmed that the H Ventura and the Gabriela Silang were returning from their survey mission near Scarborough Shoal.

One Chinese Coast Guard vessel is currently shadowing the Philippine ships as they head towards the Spratly Islands.
