The Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (PDFA) announced that Iran released one of four Filipino sailors detained when the country seized the MSC Aries on April 13th. The Philippines also said they “appreciate Iran’s gesture” and thanked India for assisting in securing the sailor’s release.
The Department of Migrant Workers and PDFA will work to secure the release of the remaining three Filipino sailors.
Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Iran released five Indian sailors and one Estonian sailor, along with the Filipino sailor.
