Ukraine Claims 30,000 Russian Troops Dedicated to Kharkiv Offensive

Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has claimed that Russia has committed some 30,000 troops to the newly established Kharkiv frontline, with 20,000 additional troops in reserve.

Ukrainian reinforcements have been dispatched to the area to bolster defensive lines and attempt counter offensive operations as civilian evacuations are underway.

Clashes of varying degrees continue in village areas north of Kharkiv city and along the outskirts of Vovchansk. As reported earlier, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has described the situation as “complex and dynamically changing.”

Evacuation efforts are also underway along the border in neighboring Sumy Oblast amid increased shelling and fears of similar incursions by Russian forces.
