Members are preparing to board one of two motherships for the 100-ship convoy that the Philippine organization, Atin Ito! (Tagalog for It’s ours!), will sail to the Scarborough Shoal on its second civilian mission. The members will include international observers and reporters from various media outlets.
The convoy will demonstrate the Philippines’ sovereignty over the shoal by sailing to the shoal and installing buoys marked with Atin Ito! inside the lagoon. The vessels will also hand out food and fuel to Philippine fishermen operating in the area.
At around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, volunteers, observers, and the media are preparing to board the main civilian vessels at the Matalvis Port in Masinloc, Zambales, to join the Atin Ito Coalition's second civilian mission to the West Philippine Sea. | via @JervisManahan pic.twitter.com/l2T23bOJzE
