One of Three British Citizens Charged with Spying On Behalf of Hong Kong Found Dead

On May 21st, British authorities announced the death of one of three individuals charged with spying on behalf of the Hong Kong Intelligence Service.

Thames Valley Police released a statement that said a “member of the public” notified them of a body in Grenfell Park, in the town of Maidenhead, at 5:15 p.m. local time on May 19th.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found Matthew Trickett, who started “emergency treatment” but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The statement said that the police treated Trickett’s death as “unexplained” and ordered an autopsy to be performed.
