North Korea Release Statement Condemning Joint Statement By South Korea, China, and Japan

North Korea’s Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement on May 28th that indirectly criticized a joint declaration made by China, Japan, and South Korea.

The statement condemned South Korea for the joint statement since it interferes “with the sacred sovereignty of the country and will not be tolerated at all.”

North Korea also said that South Korea is “constantly strengthening its aggressive military alliance with extra-regional hegemons” and causing security crises on the Korean Peninsula.

They also said that denuclearization of the peninsula is “not a matter of any international obligation or cause.” Furthermore, the statement said that South Korea is “denying our sovereign rights and trying to force us [North Korea] to commit unconstitutional acts.”
