Move Forward Party Submit Defense to Thailand Constitutional Court

On June 4th, the Move Forward Party (MFP) submitted its defense to the Constitutional Court in a dissolution case brought by the Election Commission.

The Commission is seeking the party’s dissolution based on allegations that it attempted to change Thailand’s Lese Majeste law to undermine the country’s constitutional monarchy.

The MFP submitted its defense on the last day allowed by the court, with the court previously approving three deadline extensions.

The defense is that the party did not intend to undermine the monarchy as charged, while the party’s actions on January 31st were hostile to the constitutional monarchy and were not complete.
