President Zelensky Meets with Emir of Qatar for Talks on Repatriation of Deported Ukrainian Children

On June 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Qatar to discuss the repatriation of Ukrainian children deported by Russia.

Zelensky is set to discuss Qatar’s role within the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. These discussions align with the coalition’s broader agenda.

Additionally, Zelenskiy is preparing for an upcoming peace summit scheduled for June 15-16 in Switzerland, aimed at addressing key issues including nuclear safety, food security, and the repatriation of deported children.

The summit, excluding Russia, will host 107 countries and international organizations. Russia has claimed that without its participation, the talks will be ineffective.

The U.S. will be represented by Vice President Kamala Harris, following an appeal for President Joe Biden’s attendance.
