North Korea Reportedly Tests Haeil-2 Again

North Korean state-owned media has claimed the regime successfully tested the Haeil-2 underwater strategic system off the coast of South Hamgyong Province between April 4th and 8th. This is now the second test. The report reads below:

“The relevant defense science research institute conducted an underwater strategic weapon system test from April 4th to 7th.

In the afternoon of April 4, the nuclear unmanned underwater attack boat «Haeil-2», which was put into test at Gajin Port in Keumya County, South Hamgyong Province, simulated a distance of 1,000 km and traveled an elliptical shaped course set in the East Sea of ??Korea for 71 hours and 6 hours.

After submerged for 7 minutes, it arrived at the target virtual water area, off the coast of Ryongdae Port, Dancheon City, South Hamgyong Province, on the afternoon of April 7, and the test combat unit was accurately detonated underwater.

As a result of the test, the reliability and lethal strike capability of the underwater strategic weapon system were perfectly verified.

This strategic weapon system is essential for deterring the evolving enemy’s various military actions, eliminating threats and defending the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and will become the superior military potential of our armed forces.”
