Active Shooter At Marine Corps Installation Twentynine Palms, CA

Update (1600 EST): the lockdown order has been lifted after it was confirmed an accidental discharge of a firearm resulted in no injuries or deaths on the installation.

A possible suicide has prompted a base-wide lockdown at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California.

No official statement has been made by the United States Marine Corps yet, but social media users reported shots fired and a lockdown at approximately 1300 EST.

The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, also known as Twentynine Palms, is the largest United States Marine Corps base. It was a census-designated place officially known as Twentynine Palms Base located adjacent to the city of Twentynine Palms in southern San Bernardino County, California.
