2 U.S. Army Soldiers Killed in A ‘Weather Related Incident’

Update (1813 EST, 10AUG22): The U.S. Army has released the names and circumstances of the two soldiers killed on August 9th:

U.S. Army officials confirmed that 2 soldiers, part of the Maneuver Center of Excellence training program on Yonah Mountain near Dahlonega, Georgia, have died due to a weather related incident.

Three other service members were also injured and were treated by Army medics, then taken to a hospital for treatment, Army officials said. This is the second incident in a month where Ft. Benning soldiers have been killed in weather related incidents.

On July 20th, one soldier was killed and nine were injured when lightning struck their group in a field exercise.
